Click on the state you are interested in and type in the location, city / town and state. Make sure you use caps for the state if you abbreviate and click search. There are great features that allow you to use the a coordinate box and road overlay. You can see the before and after per year.You can get around the printed info on the map by reducing or increasing the map size. If it is the map you want you can get a digital copy without all the noise on the map. Just click on the dates to see the map of the area you are interested in.
 
It's a good site...You'd be hard pressed to find a site with as many features. The one thing I have found is that there are older late 1800 to early 1900 topos that you are not going to find at historic aerials...But with that you only end up with a map, no fancy features.
