I went out this morning to a school I have always thought of going to but never had. Well today I did and these are my finds. I had a moment of Bliss with one of my finds..Great signal. big and loud. so I start to dig...i see something shining down in the dirt..I am getting really happy. I start to uncover it and get more shine....  this is big...i pull it out and its really dirty. but i can make out the words CHAMPIONSHIP...wow i just got a championship ring.. now to find out whos championship...i go to the water faucet and wash it just enough to see the words....Sacremento Monarches..:surprised: ( They are the local W.N.B.A womens pro basketball team..) I am stoked....I start for home to clean it..I get it cleaned...AND......its a ......STUPID FAKE !!!! one I guess you can buy from the games if you are the ultimate fan...:veryangry:  oh well I was rich for a minute.

only when it get caught on something  i break alot of nails since i have been detecting but i am getting used to it. man does dirt diggin kill a manicure.

Well congrats on finding a ring and other finds.....Sorry it wasn't the real thing....but better luck next time! Dobbie, did you ever think of wearing gloves when you go :detecting: ? I wear them and could not hunt without them! They keep my hands clean in the dirt/mud and spare my nails which tend to break and split anyway! Also, may help you from getting a cut or poked with a hypodernic needle.....you sure don't want either one!

Get a pair that fit well and are protective....they sure will help and you will get used to wearing them! Just be careful when you pick up a coin, because it is easy to lose one with gloves on! :)

God Bless!

thanks bryce...i just wish there was some bling to it.

This is what I have been told of the ring. I cant confirm though it makes sense. After the Monarchs won the first championship in 2005 the franchise gave out these rings to whoever attended the game or to the season ticket holders. ( not sure which) so they are collectors and limited in production to about 1000 maybe or so.

LOL!! I'm sure we have all had moments like that. That's a unique find anyway. When we bought our new house a few years ago I got a loud, ear drum busting signal that I almost didn't dig and then utimately decided it would be best to go ahead and get it out of my yard. It was near a large, 150 year old sycamore tree in our back yard. When I dislodged it, it was shaped like a gold brick and had Charles V ingraved in the top of it and weighed at least five pounds. Man, my heart was racing as I was sure I had dug a gold brick and couldn't wait to show it to my wife. It turned out to be a block of plumbers lead used to seal old sewer pipes and the V stood for...you guessed it...five pounds!!

It is still in my basement and may eventually be turned into fishing weights!!

That is quite a story, Doug, and I can see you in your excitement to show your great find to your wife....but hey 5 pounds of lead will make a lot of fishing weights or use it for a door stop and tell people your story when they ask about it! Make it nice and shiny and their eyes will get great big....thinking it is the real thing!  :)

God Bless!
