These are the playground finds...nope not gold or silver but the necklace is intact.

Then went to the ghost town I mentioned I wanted to try before...Here I am standing in the remains of a building...a geocache is here. That's how I came to find this ghost town.

Here is the same spot today (from the other direction.

My first cool find was in a hollow near the above structure where another building once had been.

I found 'something' not sure what it had been, maybe part of a trunk latch or something:

Found this (has the same scroll on all 4 side of the base):

Stay tuned....I got more!!!

I found a neat little bottle:

I ran into several sheets of rusted sheet metal. When I found the next item, I thought it was more scrap so was not gentle with it - I ripped it

This is like aluminum but has designs in it:

This appears to be a Dutch woman, apron, hat.

Dutch woman and child.

Seeing the plate earlier with the name on it I am guessing this ghost town had some Dutch people living there.

Still more to come...

This is yet anothe design on that aluminum sheet:

This is a pot sitting atop something...stove maybe??? It also had a windmill design but I couldn't get it to photograph well enough to see the detail.

Here is the indentation I detected around and found the tag, the bottle, scrolled base thingy and this designed sheet:

These are the finds for the day (playground stuff at the top - the rest is from the ghost town):

No money found but did find several broken Mason jars and lids. I know there are more goodies there...but it is a little farther away to travel right now.

Oh yeah I did have some company....there was this chipmunk at the playground...

And at the ghost town I had seen a turkey I tried to photograph but lost sight of the turkey, but I did get a picture of something watching me...

No matter what i find i just like the excitement of finding it. If it's good stuff that's even better!!! As fellow detectorist i know u all know what i mean. Like the chipmunk he is cute.

Congrats Pete for getting out detecting and for all the neat finds! The necklace is nice even if it isn't gold....like the dolphin pendant! Ya know that might have been Steve spying on you! Remember you said he was Big Foot! Whatever it is you may have had a curious visitor!

Hope you find something really nice in the ghost town and maybe a hidden jar of money! :) Were any of the Zinc jar lids have any of the white liners intact or were they all broken? Did you save any of them or were the jar lids all corroded until they weren't any good to keep? Never know what you might find there.....maybe you are digging where they piled their trash and that would account for the finds being in one area!

Keep on getting out and having fun and hope those finds get richer and better for ya!

God Bless!

That "lurker" .....could've been another detectorist checking you out...he's ( or she's ) maybe there today detecting there

Just about any place I want to go I have to go around the lake...Houghton Lake is the largest inland lake in Michigan. Used to live in Flint and I recall you couldn't from one side of town to the other without being on the expressway.

Maybe they will make a mini-Mackinac Bridge so we can drive over the lake instead of around it.

they walk on all fours most of the time and I guess standing on 2 feet is a way of saying "I'm bigger than you".
I should send the picture to the West Branch people who are looking for Big Foot sightings

yes I have been answering....and your plans sound great.

They used to sell sheet metal tiles to go on roofs - although I've mostly seen geometric shapes -
I love the little bottle - you can almost date it by the art deco style lid. Very cool!
Definitely a place worth going back to
