Met with Jerry, Nancy, and Ron for some fun at an old park, that was a depot before that!
These dates were a welcom sight! :) Here is the depot, caboose, and an oil well.

Here is Ron hard at work! It was very hot and humid here today. We had a record high! Then there is Jerry helping nancy dig up a Chevy emblem from the front of a car. They decided to leave the vette in the ground! We got over 100 clad coins between us, and I scored the only wheat. 1929

On the way home Ron and I stopped at a site where I had dug a Civil War token a couple months ago. They had several hundred yards of top dirt piled up in the back. After a few memorials, and some junk, I finally scored my find of the day! And so far my coin of the year! :) I thought it was going to be a screw cap, but when I seen the coin I knew it was an indian! :) I cleaned it enough to see ONE CENT on the back, and then I tried to see a date. I seen 74 and I knew that was a better date. It appeared to be in really nice shape, so I waited to get home to clean it good. Well it cleaned up very nice, and the best I can see is it was lost shortly after it was minted. This baby is in such nice condition, that in my grading books it appears to be AU 50!!!! :)
They just don't come out of the ground that nice very often! But I am glad it did! :)

kinda crawled around next to the caboose looking for old coins, and I looked at the ties for nails! :)
I was thinking of you!
There was a walkway between the depot and the caboose, with about 5 feet between them. I checked in between and under the platform. The other pic is of a plate near the axle on the caboose.

3" to 5" but it was in a pile of top dirt, so no telling how deep it was before the top dirt was piled up. Good to see ya! :)

Looks like everyone had a fun day. It's been pretty hot here too. As Steve would say, I was sweatin' like a butcher working that old park yesterday morning. Hot and HUMID! In fact the beaches are normally closed to swimmers after labor day. It's been so hot they brought back the lifeguards because the beaches were packed. Go figure.

I think we are going to the water today as a family!

so you should just send it to me:crazy:
