Hit the Mother Lode

With the NE winds all week along with the extra high and extra low tides I thought it might be a good weekend to go detecting. I was sure when I saw the pix of the beach erosion in AC that Don posted the other day that a lot of sand had been moved around. I decided to look for some new spots to hunt as I was sure the regular spots would be packed with Th'ers. The first two spots I hit weren't very good but then I found a spot that had eroded right up to and into the sand dunes. It was just a 2 block section of beach on the inside of a hole through the outer sandbar that had let the waves come onshore unimpeded. I couldn't believe all the targets. I hunted all afternoon Saturday until an hour after dark. I went back today and hunted from about 1pm until 5:30pm. But the most amazing part is that I hunted two days without ever seeing another Beach Hunter. That is almost unbelieveable at the Jersey Shore!!!!! So without further BS here are the pix
First the Junk

You just never know what you are going to find at the beach:

Are you expanding into water hunting this year? I hope that you do make it down this year. The beaches that we hunted the last time you were down have changed so much since then that you won't even recognize them

I had a good day Saturday doing the land thing and then got skunked yesterday hitting a couple of "hunted out" spots. Guess what? They're STILL hunted out.

Thanks for the great post, Beachcomber. It's deader than dead out here in S. CA, so it's good to see somebody finding the good stuff!

I love hunting the beach, its so relaxing compared with clutching my knife in the ghetto parks or batting at 3 zillion skeeters in the woods. I have to get this excaliber balanced though, its one heavy machine but very cool looking, I already want to take it apart!
I may be down sooner than you think, I'm sick of winter and I'm in need of a serious detecting fix.
