Sandtick made a comment under a different topic - "I like hearing what everyone got for gifts. Makes me feel like I know them and their hobbies a little better."

We have done this a few times in the past, but now have several new folks on here who might be interested in learning more about their fellow forum members. Even if you have posted your info in the past, please post it again to tell folks what your hobbies and interests are. If you don't want to participate, then skip it. :)

I will even get it started.

My interests & hobbies are varied and many. A sign of ADD?????? LOL.... MAYBE SO!!!!

I collect railroad relics from 5 lines that ran through Arizona. My main interest in these are the datte nails they used. They are thick nails with a year stamped or cast on the top of the nail. Then the track workers would put the current dated ones in the ties when they laid the track so they could tell later on how old they were. Most railroads used them from 1900 to the 50's. But some started later or finished later. It's really neat to tell the age as soon as you find one. We get them in old ties, ties made into fence posts, etc. I even find some occasionally in places like plant nursuries who use the old ties for display purposes.

Some are valuable, going into the 5-6 hundred dollar range. Here's a rare 1903 that my wife eyeballed, now worth close to 400 bux.

Each display has an old lock & key that still works. I either detected the lock & key or bought it.

Wow! Great hobbies Lisa and Steve. The only hobbies I'm involved in anymore are metal detecting, custom engraving, webbing, (a variety of websites I've designed and built) and writing. For many years, I collected stamps and coins but stopped doing both of them and gave them to my son and grandchildren to build. Hunting - both deer and small game was my passion for many years but that too has gone by the way side. Unfortunately I can no longer afford to continue many of the things I once enjoyed. I am delighted God continues to bless me with the strength to do those things I can do and enjoy.

Having a young child, I don't have time for many hobbies, but I do enjoy:

Reading
Blogging
Crafting
Cooking
Walking/Hiking
Fishing
Photography (children and nature--not wedding)
Listening to/playing music
Singing
Karaoke
Antiquing
Shopping for others
Gardening
Learning
Teaching and working with children

That's pretty awesome, Steve! Thanks for sharing those pics. My husband used to collect railroad locks. He sold a lot of them, but still has a few locked away.

My son collected coins and stamps when he was a little guy, many years ago. He couldn't care less about it now. Wish he would come to my house and clean out that safe and move them along to someone else because I could use the room.
