Hole Diggers?

I just saw a video from a treasure hunting show in which the guy was digging perfectly round, small, maybe 8-12 inch deep holes. Handheld tool. Like what you'd use to dig before planting a tree.

Could someone please tell me where to buy these and what they are called? Seems a LOT handier than digging bigger, messier holes.

The one the guy used scooped the dirt right up in a cylinder shape and after pinpointing the treasure, he just dropped the dirt neatly back in the perfect hole.

I think they are called bulb planters and can be purchased anywhere you can get garden supplies and one should never dig big ugly holes regardless. You can do the same thing with a knife by cutting a round plug.

Here's how I've done it for 46 years. Locate coin with probe. Leave probe in ground and slide the tip of a big screwdriver down past the edge of the coin. Remove probe and lay handle up against screwdriver shaft to use as a fulcrum then push down on the screwdriver as pictured and pop the coin out of the ground.

I have seen a long handled bulb planter. It had a vacuum hole in the handle. Cover the vac hole, step on it, remove and uncover the vac hole. It was very fast for the first 4 or 5 inches.

They are very well built.There work really good and cut very nice clean plug,Just push down with your foot.To the deep you want.then pull it out and push the lever down to push the plug out. the sell for 64.00 plus shipping.
