Hope all is going well in Fargo,ND -- flooding

Just read about it in the news. The whole state is being declared a state of emergency with record flooding in most rivers. I hope all is well to the best of your circumstances down there.

Seriously, the flood waters are literally everywhere up here. I live 100 miles from Fargo and every creek and stream are spilling over the banks. Township and county roads are under water and closed, the closer you get to Fargo is like a giant sea, overland flooding eveywhere. On top of all that we just had a major snowstorm again and now temps are in the teens. My hat is off to everyone who is fighting these floods...we are very dilligent up here in the North country. Thanks for the concern...

It seems to be more in the Eastern half of ND that is getting it the most from the spring thaw we are having. We got a lot of snow this winter and been cold most of it, but a few real warm days seemed to thaw some too fast causing all this flooding. We are 35 miles southwest of Fargo in farm country and most of our flooding was early this week, but now all this is moving to Fargo plus as the water from south of Fargo which is giving Fargo more than it has been for years. The record flooding was in 1897 I believe when it was 38.9 feet over flood stage and they figure the Red River in Fargo will crest at 41-42 feet and possible 43, so it is a real concern right now. One thing it is amazing all the volunteer that have come forth to help sandbag with some living quite a way away.
Many homes have been evacuated on Friday in the areas close to the river and was told the nursing homes have moved the people out of them just in case some of the dikes break.

The next 48 hours will be critical and we can only pray that the dikes will stand up. Next all this water plus more will be on its way to Grand Forks and only hope they will be prepared as in 1997 that city got hit real bad and many lost homes and some business caught fire that the Fire dept couldn't get to so all was lost.
We thank every one for their concerns and their prayers.
