I just received dd coil 7.5khz, im making air tests , im just not getting depthi have a big silver coin maximun depth about 5 inches

i put the new coil and i thought that some letters were going to appear on the screen nothing happened

What am i doing wrong

thanks

Nothing happened other than you changed coils. The machine doesn't figure that it needs to tell you what coil is on unless you ask it.
Does it work?

The designed purpose of DD coils is to neutralize the effects of mineralization. If you are hunting in areas with moderate levels of mineralization, then a concentric coil will likely provide equal or greater depth, than a similarly sized DD coil. With that in mind, the air tests you are making will not prove anything about the coil, other than the fact you can get a reasonable degree of accuracy for TID numbers. If you were to compare that DD to your stock concentric, you'd probably get more "air distance" with the concentric. True "depth of detection", however, goes out the window on air tests. I hate Air tests because they do not give you any true info.

MDers were made to find things in the ground,,,,,,, Not in the air...

thanks guys for your response, but i notice another problem,i thought of making the air test outside because inside the house there's a lot of interference and i couldn't put sensitivity as high as i wanted to so i went outside and had the same problem I'm in 16 then 17 and the detector starts to become all unstable, this doesn't happen with my 18.75 dd coil(gold pack coil) , isn't this to soon just strating on sensitivity 17 and starts chattering

thanks

I would take it to a new enviroment and see what happens, what are your automatic ground balance numbers??

Likely there is a Wi-fi router fired up somewhere nearby. Deffinately some sort of EMI type interference.
What happens when you noise cancel?

when i noice cancel -1 ,automatic groundbalance numbers 16 , i will take tommorow very far away from the city lets si what happens

i changed coils and the 18.75 i could put sencitivity all tha way to 28, inside the house, with the 7.5 khz 10.5 on 18 starts chatering, could it be the size of the coil???

More likely interference that has a harmonic that affects 7.5kHz more than 18.75kHz.

Sounds like the most logical approach. That way you'll know for sure.

My only input- my 18.75 is the most stable around EMI and the only one I could really try indoors.(have 4 coils)

well went detecting and i could put sencitivity all the way:clapping:, nothing wrong i was a little nervous but everything okay ,

now some tips that you can give me with this coil 7.5 khz dd 10,5

thanks
