Horseshoe badge identification?

I found this on a residential property which is situated on an old Union Civil War Camp. A Google picture search suggested it might be a Civil War cavalry adornment and showed a similar item from the Battle of the Wilderness, but it is not exactly the same. Can anybody make a positive identification on this? Thank you!

Its a Union Cavalry badge civil war era Good find. They were made by different manufactures so they may be a slight variation in some of them.
