:hot: Got My First Ever US Standing Liberty Silver Quarter Today With My GTI 2500:hot:

What a day! My first dirt hunt. First silver this year and first silver of that type. I found some south facing slopes that had no snow, and frost free areas, which meant that I could get that relic shovel in 4-5 inches. My 4th signal got a 1949 penny. My 5th signal, showed a silver quarter consistently, in all directions with a coin sized object. It was only down about 1/2 on an inch. I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked it up and recognized it as a US Quarter! What a great hobby!

Check it out below:

Nice :clapping:

GREAT JOB , CONGRATS:cheers:

OH YEAH!!! I can dig it! ROCK ON!!!:yo: LADY LIBERTY!!! My heart always skips a beat when I see one of those pop up out of the ground. Congratulations, man!:beers:

I have found more SLQs than silver Washington's but I have only ever found one with a date. Oddly it was 1925 just like yours. They are very beautiful coins but the details wore away after only a few years of circulation. If you ever saw a nice mint state one close up you'd see what I mean. That is a real nice find. I'd sure like to find a foreign silver coin here in the US some day!

You've got to get lucky sometimes John. Getting out as often as you do, creates those opportunities.
Congratulations.:clapping:

Congrats bud. Those are hard to come by even here in the states. I've only got a scant few in all my years of groveling in the dirt.

Great find John, Thats a rare one for up here in Canada. It is surprising the American coins that are found here. I have a couple of American large cents 1851-52 also a flying eagle penny and a V nickle. But some American coins have eluded me.. The frost is out of the ground here so hope to soon get swinging if my legs will let me . HH Ken

Sweet find!!!!!!
