:hot:TAB READING Thick Necklace I:E Chain ?Update

Woodchuck

New member
Well before I went to bed last night took a magnifying glass to that neckless/chain I found yesterday with the Cointrax II.Well its offical its stamped with 925,which stands for 92.5% and 7.5 % is the rest which is copper. So we have STERLING SILVER!!!!!.YES the mark for high quality silver at that.Needless ro say I went to bed with a big smile on my face. And to think it came in as a :pulltab: reading on the Cointrax II

Congrats ! Pays to check those pulltabs:thumbup:

thats a keeper. i wonder if the small amount of copper in 925 silver makes a better signal? i know coin silver is a little different, and copper pennies hit strong on machines. it seems silver chains vs gold chains found might be more silver by us land hunters. have you tried laying out a gold chain and a silver, comparable size, and see how they read?

Heres some more info on chain, its a mens chain about 20 and 1/4 inches long, it called a flat link anchor chain, ( the links look like a ships anchor chain hence the name and links are flat not round ) The links are 6.84 mm wide,12.39 mm long, and 1.35 mm thick.56 links, plus the 2 ends, and a lobster claw hasp.Looking on internet its worth some serious moolah!!!. I'm going to have it appraised ! :hot:

All of which begs the question: Why would a woodchuck chuck wood, when he can dig silver?

Congrats,

Dave
