XP Deus 2 with a 9" coil (just learning) and went to my local Park. Didn't go to rerally find anything, just to learn. Same area of the Park I've beat to death with my Garrett; White's; Mine Lab 800; Legend, and now the Deus. I found a Wheatie (unknown date) got a lot of scale and might never get the date. However I found a Silver Dime that I knew was a zinc'on cause the signal was choppy and not consistant. But out popped the Barber Dime, 1915; I love Barber coins. A bit worn but shows fairly well. Real surprise at 7" deep. Just tells me I need to be digging more "iffy" signals. BTW a small nail was also in the hole.

Great find…. I have also dug iffy signals that turned out to be great finds…. You just never know what that next signal might be even with todays detectors..
One reason why coins like you found are still there… I bet many others have been over that coin and kept going.
It looks like that nail may have been touching the coin by the rust stain on it…very impressive!!

Tell ya what; I know for a fact I was over that target with the 800 and the Legend, same type and sounding signal and I just didn't dig it. I wasn't in a big hurry and had only been on site for about 40 minutes when I decided to see what it was. Suspected it was a piece of copper wire with some iron. Reason I thought that is I had dug a 3" piece of copper wire about a foot from the dime. With the Deus my signal for copper (pennies, ect) comes in around 80~86 and this VDI'd at 85 and choppy. I love this hobby.
The program I was running is a program I picked up off Utube ( Mental Metal ~ How to set up a coin program).
