Hot weathers affects

Ive noticed this year with all the hot weather that my detector is running HOTTER. Im getting more EMI in the dry ground and areas im hunting at my normal settings. That said, im also getting really good depth.... which is odd because normally we want to hunt with more moisture in the ground for our depth. I store my detector in the house..NOT the car or areas that have a change in temps. Its not the batteries... or at least doesnt seem to be because ive swapped the two packs just to see. There seems to be more EMI that i cant cancel out as easily as before.... but it does still stablize as you move out of these areas. Now when the temp goes down a little .... those areas go back to having lower EMI. Go figure.

I'm noticing the same effects too....a noisier machine in areas that were much more stable than before. I can't blame it on the heat here, because we are having the coolest Summer here on the S. Cal coast in as long as I can remember. The park turf, however, is pretty dry here though. I'm finding myself constantly manually changing the noise channel to find more stability. I'm also getting the early morning surface dew phenomenon: noisier ground in the early morning, and when the surface dries, I have more machine stability.

Is it possible those air gaps in the soil lets the EMI resonate more? In my part of the country... Indiana, its even the EMI in the air. Ive hunted these parks before so i know where most of the EMI areas are... they are just a lot stronger. It could be more juice in the lines with all this heat too i guess.

Hi Dew, do you think the higher solar activity has anything to do with the EMI problems?

Now you got me Larry.... i had no idea about any solar activity im not certain as to their affect either. Interesting thought and would affect most of the country.

Ive been having the same troubles. I thought it was the heat effecting my circuitry or something wrong with my machine.

Im getting great depth especially in looser soil.... so i hope it permanent haha.
