Since I won one recently I will have one of my own. Two winners. To play you have to have posted on this forum this year before this post.
I will run this contest through Monday. Here is how it works. To all the folks who get out to detect at least one time from Fri - Mon just reply to this post what you found. I will draw randomly from those who get out to dig.
Next, if you can't get out just reply to this post and tell us one of you favorite finds you have made with you detector. It does not have to be the most expensive etc... just on of your favorite finds.
Have fun, and I look forward to the finds and past finds too.
Winner will get an old token or old coin.

God bless.

Mike

My favorite find was a copper Social Security Card that has the lady's name and SS #! It is the same size as a reg SS card but is made of metal! Never seen one before and I didn't put it on the CMD Forum because of her name and number! I don't know if she is alive or dead! If you want a pic, I can post one of it from the back side! It is already to upload! May God Bless and hope those who get out find some nice goodies! Amen! Ma Betty

HJi Mike; My favorite find was a set of gold dentures. My neighbor who is elderly had recently lost his teeth about 5 months ago. He was heart sick because they were a gift from his wife who just passed away the week before he aked me to find them. He searched eveywhere but could not find them. Then he remember tht he had worked in the yard doing some gardening. He then realized that I might be able to find them. He called me that night after them being gone for 3 weeks. I went over the next day and after bout an hour of searching I got a nice smooth signal. I moved some brushes that were there and sure enough up they came. Glittering like the dayt he lost them. I handed them to him and after he stared at them for a few minutes in silence he began crying his heart out because he was so elated to have them back. By this time about 12 people came over to check on him. After he told them what happened there wasn't a dry eye to be found anywhere. I was thrilled. today everytime he walk near me he smiles that big golden smile. Those suckers sure do shine in the sun I tell you that.!!!! :super: Today I have had several find requests from people who have lost things in the past. Glad to say I've found all except 2 items so far. I'm still searching for them. I'll find them.I've become a kind of folk hero and have been asked to speak at the local school here on metal detecting. I even had the Police add me to thier Search Response Team Roster so I can help them find things like weapons, bullets and stuff. I thrilled for my friend. He still cries when he thinks about them.I've even taken several kids out detecting at a local beach with their parents. They had a great time. Me, I'm humbled that God used me for this purpose. So I guess that's my entry. Gold Dentures. PEACE:RONB :detecting:

Wow, gold dentures...I would cry if I had some and lost them...must have cost a fortune and a great gift from his wife, who has passed away! Congrats on finding them and all the other finds lost be those who want them back! Hope you find the other two lost items, but get well first and don't overdo! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

P.S. Barker, ya gotta get those gold dentures back out of his mouth and either take a pic or a scan of them, so we can see those BRIGHT teeth or take a pic of him smiling BRIGHTLY!  Ma Betty

I found two dime and a name tag today. That was the trashiest yard I have hunted in a long time and the least amount of coins I have found in a yard.

Story is true none the less. I'm just happy I could help. It was about 1 1/2 weeks befoore my own surgery. Those choppers must have taken a big bite out of their wallet though. PEACE:RONB :heh:

Well, I sure would have liked to have seen him smile with those golden dentures! I've never seen them made of gold, but I have seen gold crowns....my ex had one and when they had to take it off and redo his tooth, he kept it....should be worth some money as they have high gold content! May God Bless with a quick and complete recovery in the healing of your Spine with the ability to go :detecting: and do what needs to be done without the pain that you've had too many times! Amen! Ma Betty

the non detecting part of the contest. Just tell us about one of your favorite finds from the past! :)

I have seen aluminum ones, but never copper. You can post a pic if you just block out the name and number. Cool find!

Thanks Mike, and I thought already of doing that and Barker since it is not an okay card with the SS Office, I will just keep it! There are a lot of them being found and I found mine back in the 80's! They said many had theirs done with their name and SS# at many different places....I sure wouldn't recommend that now a days with ID Theft so rapid! May God bless with quick healing! Amen! Ma Betty

There are a lot of posts about Copper SS# on the Treasure Quest Forum, if anyone would like to read about it!

Found a wad cutter bullet, aluminum junk, penny, plywood clip, cap off something (small). And a Sunkist can. Then the battery went dead. Was testing a new 8" coil.

Went to the Kent County Zoo today & hunted for about 2.5 hours. I was getting a little hungry, so I called it quits for today. Walked away with:

$1.75 in quarters
$1.50 in dimes
$0.15 in nickles and
$0.35 in pennies

That's a lot of diggin' !

148 coins. Unfortunately, no goodies. Did get a half cent tho :) Sure was hard digging as can be seen by the dry, crusty coins. Steve in so az
