Oh - I like the FREE ads too. How about the one on free credit report dot com. Get a free credit report (all you have to do is sign up for credit alert for a little monthly fee)
(ok I admit it - I fell for it about 4 or 5 years ago).

How about the small print on the bottom of the TV screen ads nobody can read.

All the very fast talking at the end of a radio add that completely contradicts what was just said - in a very low tone.

[size=medium]I CANNOT stand the weight loss commercial that uses all of the sports figures, celeb's etc to promote their product. The latest one has the guy they call Larry the Cable Guy. Every commercial I have seen has flashed the light colored print "Results no typical" under each fools claim of success! If the results are not typical then it is typically what we CANNOT expect from your product! Obviously their product typically will not work for you although their famed and celebs are trying to convince you it will! That makes the company a misleading liar and the people they get to advertise in the commercial liars too! What I learn from their commercials is that a lot of famous people will do anything for more money at the expense of their fans! One more I cannot stand is one of the greatest liars of all commercials, "I'm the guy that gives away the free learning software!" FREE??? He charges 6.95 for S&H! That is far from free when a CD can be mailed for well under a 1.00 I subscribe to a weekly Bible Study on CD which consists of two CD's, total cost for shipping?, a $1.31 in a secure padded envelope and the ministry is obviously able to make something from it to further their cause for Christ while feeding the flock. It would seem like the product would sell if he said he would sell his FREE software for only 5.00 with a 1.95 for shipping. But to say it's Free exposes his deception and portrays him as another money hungry liar preying on the un-informed to further line his pockets with "Free" product profits! oops, maybe I forgot to mention he says that he does it because he knows you'll come back and try his other products while allowing you to choose anyone of the products for free. Duh! If for some reason the BUYER of the FREE software decides to be taken again I am sure they will figure out how to get another Free one! Yes this is a sore area for me, sorry! I just get so upset knowing that a lot people who get fooled by the Ad deceptions are not wise to the deception used to lure them in and many cannot afford it. There are so many out there for every category that almost anyone who watches TV is an instant target. The latest craze is, "All you have to pay is the extra shipping and handling and we'll include a second one for free!" Ever call just to see what the extra S&H is? Give it a try, afterall it's a free call, for us! [/size]

it was $35.00 USD. They gave me a $35.00 USD in store credit. I would have to spend it in the store only. Free doesn't mean free if they can get away with it. The machine cost me $635 to begin with. A car dealer here used to advertise-drive it in, tow it in and we will give you $2000 trade-in. Only thing is it was $3000 above the retail price of the vehicle. A jewelery store here had one of those quick buck coin and jewelery rip-offs come to town for a special 2-day buy what you have. They would pay up to $1100 for a silver dollar. Ebay had some that were selling for $2500. Yeah, that seems like a fair and honest deal to me, NO WAY.

All the fast talking and super emotional speeches are meant to deceive and get people hyped up enough to buy. This is one main reason I search for church ministers that "teach" the word in the Bible instead of working people in a congregation into an emotional frenzy. I like a spirit filled experience in Church - but when I calm back down, I want to be able to actually remember all that was taught so that I can calmly sit down and study what was preached. I once went to a "spirit filled" church service and purposely wrote down everything the minister was shouting out as he stomped back and forth at the front of the church and in the isles - yelling and hollering to high heaven. When I went back home and tried to follow the main theme of the service - I noted allot of 'verse picking". That's where a preacher picks a verse from one book, then another from another book, and so on - to make a point that has nothing to do with the whole context of the book the verses were "plucked" out of. I guess that's when I decided to pick a church with a preacher that sticks to a chapter and teaches the message within the context of a particular book. I also no longer believe in a "literal" interpretation of lots in the Bible as some doctrines teach (e.g., parables are not to be taken literally or they would not be parables - Right? Wrong? Maybe?).

I just hate double talking and trickery - especially if it's coming from a preacher wearing a fancy robe. Lots of those on TV today also. They sure must be struggling to hear tell of it. Must be the Rolex watches and diamond jewelry they all seem to be wearing. I guess I have alittle jealousy mixed in with my scorn for it all somewhere deep inside. Pray for me. I need it, and I will do the same on my end - to get over it all. I guess we all have some bad experiences to think back on like this. Just think where we would be if not for the saving Blood of Christ! I know where I would be for sure. Kind of a warm place I hear.

All this false advertising stuff really turns my stomach too but I try to laugh it off if I can. How about the ones that promise no interest or no payment for up to a year? That's also a good one. At the end of the year - if you have not made any payments - they sock you with the whole past years interest plus whatever the payments are. Money on the other hand is not the root of all evil as some (allot of) people will say. It's the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil (look it up). Take Bill Gates for instance. Basically a good guy that has it all - but recently, not that he needs any more money - is trying to get permission from the Government to hire people from other countries to come here to work for Microsoft - on longer term visas (cheap non union labor I suppose). What about all the people here in the US that need good jobs? What ever happened to Wal-Mart who once tooted "all our products are made in the USA"? I guess that went away when Walton died. I am rambling. Sorry. I didn't intend to turn this into something so serious. I think we all already know whats going on around us without me re-hashing it. It's all part of Gods plan. Back to the funny stuff. I love it!!!
