what will it not ID correctly ?? tops ??
foil ? cans ??

It's as accurate as the Deleon which is the model it was patterned after....

The Hawkeye was aimed at the UK market, the thing is foil would give exactly the same reading as our silver hammered coins,so if you dont dig foil you also wont dig hammered coins its that simple, the problem is that also not all silvered coins are the same quality silver, they are a good machine and very popular but saying that they are getting on abit,so most folks would have sold them and upgraded so prehaps some good 2nd hand bargains could be around.

Have used a Hawkeye some years back and really enjoyed using it,its a good reliable work horse and pretty decent on trashy roman sites.

is the Racer TID better than the hawkeye ??

I cannot confirm it as i have never used a Racer but gut feeling tells me it would be ain a much higher league than the HawkEye,the Racer is a totally new machine but the HawkEye is well over ten years old pushing nearly 15 years in design wise,so logic would tell me it would be a far superior machine in all aspects.

Of course this is only my personal opinion but i dont think i a wrong in my assumption.

LOL, there is only a handfull of "testers" that have the Racer in their hands right now and you think that they would be doing a comparison with the Hawkeye?

Most people have never even heard of the Hawkeye much less handled one. My wife has the Deleon, which is the American version, nice detector actually.
