How are the xterras around trash? Did they come out with a small coil yet? Thanks

Discrimination:
I don't have any problem discriminating out trash. Target IDs seems to fall well within the designated notch segment.
Separation:
I do have a problem with target separation, if there is a coin within "reach" of the trash. For example, if the targets are farther apart than the 9-inches represented by the diameter of the coil, I can get individual readings on each target. However, if the trash is within 6 inches or so, I have one heck of a time separating them in a Pattern mode. The only way I have found to hunt with mixed targets this close is in All-Metal, listening for the different sounds. If you can get that high tone to repeat in the same spot everytime, and ignore the low tones, you can pull out a few keepers.
Desperation:
Like everyone else, I believe the smaller coil will be what allows this detector to live up to it's potential. As to the availability of a smaller coil....I haven't heard anything either. HH Randy
