How can I tell what version my T2 is?

I just got it back from FTP today. They said they had to replace the circuit board. It seems to work fine but I don't know how to tell what version it is. It just starts up but doesn't give me any version. It starts up in disc like always. Am I missing out on something? I don't care to send it back in though. Maybe i'll just sell it if they put old parts in it. It just makes me curious because of the talk of ver 6.5 and talk of T2s starting up in AM mode. I guess I can't complain but ifthere is a newer version I would have thought they would have made it up to date... surely they knew I would notice and ask about it. I guess it is something you have to either ask for or pay extra for.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I bought the T2 when it was first released. I bought the F75 as soon as it came out. I bought the F75 LTD in camo when it came out. I bought an Omega-8000 and am waiting for a G2... my T2 dies and they repair it and don't bother to update it. You'd think that they would take good care of a faithful customer.

Maybe i'll just sell it and use something else or maybe later i'll get over it... right now i'm not sure how I feel. I will probably get more POed about it as I think it over though... in fact I think my blood pressure is going up already.

i better stop now before I say something I will regret... since I get the idea others have had their T2 come back from repair updated to 6.5 !! Not me though. Perhaps I expect to much.

Of course...this is all Elton's fault.

the 6.5 in "MY SOIL" is deeper by close to three inches over the original T2 I owned.. It is a lot more stable too. Noise just isn't there unless it's a target making the detector respond... The original T2 had emi issues the 6.5 does not..,,that said let me remind everyone..NOT ALL First Texas Detectors are the same..a lot of variance in operation even though they are the same model.. Why ........... I do not know.. I have owned several F75's and the Ltd's they were each different in some way.. I was told it's the plus and minus factor of parts used.. Most companies have a tolerance of some sort..like -10 to plus 10..that's considered normal.. I have had CZ detectors that were very different in depth and operation too. That's all I can add ...

I will stress though a very big difference in 6.5 and 6.0 for me...

the 6.5 version was made for the gold fields where thay were all buying them..It was easier for hunters to go on in All metal and GB.. I think that was just noble attempt and a success for Ft to have done that.. Don't worry to much about the versions their really all over the place....and hard to keep up with. I expect your returned T2 will be about as deep and stable a detector as you could want....the first 8" barber you dig will confirm it for you.. or the first 7" on edge..

Thanks for the reply... I guess i'll just have to get out and use it. I just wish I had someone close by with a T2 I could compare it to. I can compare it to my F75 LTD... and plan to. The thing is that there aren't many places I hunt with deep targets. The ground is hard clay and full of rocks but there are a few places I might be able to test it at depth. I guess as long as it is quiet and sensitive it will be ok... and I tried it for a few minutes in the yard and it seemed to be quiet enough and sensitive... I just want the best, you know how it is!
