How can you tell if the case on the Explorer XS is the old or newer type?

Hi,
I have a Explorer XS and was wanting to know if I need to have the case replaced when I send it in to have a new screen put on it.
I am going to wait till winter but not sure how you can tell?maybe the ser.#s?
I could take a close up of the front if that would help?

I believe the newer box takes the angle cut upper shaft as the older ones don't. Udder than that don't know of any other differences! Never had a reason to tear it apart.
