My son and daughter-in-law got home from the hospital yesterday to find an official letter on their door. It is from the Department of Human Services saying they will return as they have received a complaint about the mother being mentally ill and unable to care for the new baby.
She has had complaints like this before about her not being able to care for their son. He is now 4 and DHS in all their visits never found just cause for the complaints they received earlier so closed all those complaints as unjustified.
Now she comes home - after a stressful birth to be given more stress. Post-partum depression is bad enough without this type of harassment by whoever is making these accusations.
Sad part is they will protect the name of the complainer and even continue to believe the complaints of this person even when it has been proven the complaints are not justified. One cannot fight against the harassment if we can't find out who it is making the complaints. Seems one should be able to apply libel and slander laws against that person, get an injunction to cease and desist but how does one do that when the State of Michigan protects the one who should not be protected?
Anyway, please pray for the family as they have to yet again endure the scrutiny of the State. I don't even know if push came to shove and they took the children, if Sherry and I could get custody of our own family members (grand kids). Let's pray the accuser will cease and desist. Don't know who they got mad but he or she sure is vengeful.
