How do we put pictures on here?

:usmc: I am new to this Hobby and just got my MXT 300 Today. I live in Sacramento CA. and I new to the area also. So I am trying to find new places to try out my new Hobby. I work most of the summer and have most of the winter off. so I have time to go hunt. How do we put pictures on here? I like reading how things are going and see what has been found.

Hey Woody, I was in the Marine Corp in 1970 to 1974 glade to have you here and you will love your MXT. As far as posting pictures all you need to do is down load your pictures to your computer then hit the Blue Upload File..Just above the message box.

As far as places to hunt your about 40 miles from Placerville that's in the heart of gold country, get on Hwy 49 and ether way you go you can find gold. Man I would love to be back in N. Ca. I was born and raised in Vallejo.:usaflag::usmc::thumbup:

Each picture has to be smaller than 420 KB. I use low quality setting and keep then about 700 wide. Rob

Semper Fi to you Woody and Bob!!

Resize your digital photo to 1024x768 which works most of the time to keep it to the max of 420KB. If that does not work 640x480 always works then go to browse in the download section and pick your photo then upload it. Let us know if you have problems. Welcome to the site. HH Dennis in Idaho

Welcome to the forum Brian, Semper Fi...... :usmc:............:usaflag:

Been awhile for me but lets see:
---Click the "Upload File" that's in blue - has the little paper clip next to it - see above for it.
---Now if I have a pic lets say on my desktop, I'll click the browse button to search for that pic then choose desktop, then double click the file (pic) I picked. After I double click it, and it will show the file location picked in the blank space just left of the Browse button.
---Now click the "Upload" button just to the right of the Browse button. It will show the pic file now and the 2 fields next (to the right) of it will be "Create link in message" and the 2nd one is a "Delete" option. Guess if ya happen to change yer mind.
----Now I'll put the blinking cursor in the post or reply where I want to place the pic. In this case, I'm going to hit my return to place the cursor below this sentence and to the left side of the page, then I'll click on the "Create link in message" - here goes
[attachment 116178 DetectorFamily.jpg]

---What I got was a set of brackets [ ] and in the brackets shows an attachment, a series of numbers, name of the pic and (jpg) which was the pic format. I don't see the photo at this point but should after I click on the "Post Message" option at the bottom of the page.
---So now I'll click that "Post Message" option at the bottom and lets see

--Okay I seen my reply - now I have clicked the edit button to bring me back. (I think there is a time limit to edit), and I can choose the "Save Changes" at the bottom to save any changes and re-post the message/reply with the edit.
--I'm not good at this is the reason I choose my way to explain.
--------If ya need more assistance, send me a PM (Private Message) and I'll try to do better.
Others may have different ways for posting pic's. Best to have small file size I agree so I set my camera on the lowest quality setting. Some folks may place their pics on a photo web host site and get them from there. I do that for a different hobby because of their requirements on their forum.
Alright, hitting the "Save Changes" option on the bottom and all this edit info will be added on.
Oh, I usually like to do the Check Spelling" as I'm bad at this. Here goes....
k- just tried a 2nd edit - checking myself here.

Okay - after I edit, it took me back to my reply post and shows I edit 1 time.
Like I say, been awhile for me doing a pic - but guess this still works.
Oh, I'm almost in Sac. - kind of close to Roseville. There is a good number of folks around swinging detectors. Good Luck:beers:
