How does the Deus handle EMI ??

I have had several high powered single frequency machines that were very fast and deep but certain sites with lots of EMI would cripple them.I would have to lower the sensitivity/gain so much that depth was very poor or have so much noise that I would soon have a headache.
I am thinking with the ability to change frequencies and or offset them should be a great help.Electric fences at one of my best old sites completely cripple most machines except my favorite at this time.Thanks for any and all user info and especially from those with infield experience with the Deus here in the USA.

Ray so far I have had very good success with no EMI problems in 2 very urban areas. Took it out 2 times and ran sens in upper 80's and low 90's with minimal problems. I am trying to run it super stable right now so I can learn it faster. I will be trying more locations this weekend to get a more accurate assessment. So far so good.

On the different freq, Not only can you change freq to battle EMI but you can "shift" freq as well. Very slight changes off 4 basic freq. Haven't had to do that yet as its running smooth in the 4 presets.

Deus is very sensitive detector, but it still can handle EMI very well.

Just being in an urban area may not mean there is EMI to contend with . . . . . Atlanta and Charlotte are two of my hunting locations and while they are very urban, yet there is little EMI that impacts any detector used . . . . . the test would be if you have a site that drives other detectors nuts, will the Deus handle it . . . . I think that was the type of feedback Ray was looking for; i.e., does it handle EMI that affects other detectors better? I have not had a site that would be a real test as of yet . . . . .

There are some sites near Charleston that are not urban yet have towers that drive detectors crazy - I will be there in a few weeks and can post the results of the hunt when I get back.

Sorry I misread Rays question. Only question I saw was the opening one, "How does the Deus handle EMI"? To which my response was so far so good for me. I didn't see where he asked for a comparison to other detectors. I also stated it was in an urban environment were EMI is usually present.

I can tell you the Teknetics Omega 8000 was running in very low 80's because of EMI and E-trac around 16 in auto with stock coil. That is a good indication of the conditions. I was running the Deus from 88 to 90 and it was nice and stable in the 12 khz freq. I ran it for a few minutes at the 95 setting with minor EMI but still very hunt able. I wanted to keep it super stable while i am learning it.

I have one particular farmers field, that is making my Golden mask 3 go nuts and i found out, that there is a bunch of buried cables in the ground, that was causing the problems i had. I used the Deus in there and i didnt really notice any EMI problems, it was running very stable.

I hunt all urban sites and I've only found few spots where I could not max out sensitivity and still have the machine run quiet.

I have a local site which is a air contol beaken. It drives my E-machine crazy.

I will give it a test when I get some time......Just got them in stock yesterday.

I have a spot that has a transformer at one corner that you can hear humming even on a windy day. I cannot use my F75 LTD within 300 feet of it. My Explorer SE Pro goes nuts within 100 feet of it. The Deus can hunt under it without any problems. I confirmed this Saturday. I was using Gmaxx, sensitivity at 99, gb on tracking, and freq was 18. I dug several larger rimfire brass, and a few round balls.

I'm thinking about buying the XP Deus. I have a great location where I've found an 1801 Large Cent and other colonial relics. BUT EMI from an electric cattle fence wreaks havoc on an AT Pro and a T2SE. Anyone used the XP Deus around electric fences?

Hahahaaa, Old Virginia!

I was at a farm with an electric cattle fence today. I got shocked by it as well, but that is another story.

The Deus suffers the same issues with the cattle fence. Every second or so, the pulse? emitted by the fence would set the detector off, sometimes giving it a low tone, or a high tone. I went and got the Etrac out of the car and it also suffered the same issue. I hate those cattle fences!

Precisely. Maddening. I learned to "work around it" with the AT Pro and was still able to find some nice relics. I was just hoping the XP Deus would not be affected. Oh well - maybe with the next software upgrade?
