How does the SE PRO do on Gold?

If you are talking RAW gold dont waste you time. For jewelry its fair but there are better machines on the market. On the beach... they have great depth, wont find most chains without a clasp. But.... they have an advantage in they they transition well between wet and dry sand. Their GB is very close to salt and where small gold hits so its difficult at depths with a larger coil to find studs, earrings ect. The SOV does a little better.... but thats because they are tone and you dont have the crutch of a screen. You really have to dig it all on the beach anyway. In a park its difficult for most machines to find gold .... more because there is so much junk that falls within the target area and you just dont normally dig those targets. That said.... the MLs have a real advantage as an overall machine... thats where they are money makers. If you havent been detecting long you may branch out to say field, park, beach, or relic hunting these are good choices.

[size=large]there is a you tube video that compares the e-trac with the garrett at pro and the whites dfx.
the minelab comes in dead last. the test is on how well they do on gold pieces. rings crosses and such. if you're set on getting a minelab they get rid of the factory coil and get the SEF coil. for trashy places get the 8x6. jmo.
