How I clean my clad finds today..,

Well-known member
I first fill the Tumblr up with hot water and dish soap and mixed various sizes of stainless steel shot .
Then I let the Tumbler run for about an hour to clean off the major dirt.
Then I drain and run some clean water over the change and then add a little bit more dish soap and a Cap full of lime away. Then I let it tumble overnight and it comes out like brand new change ready for spending !
This load was from today’s fines on the beach .
I use of thumbler Tumbler it’s perfect with the rubber drum it’s very quiet.

good job

Nice.

Good Post Mkus,

I'm going to give this variation on my clad tumbling a try. Ever tried this on crusty Zincolns? I hate just throwing them away.

Is the lime away the same as CLR?
Yes you can use Lime away also just be sure to rinse first with plain hot water and a little soap for like 30 min
Then drain and refill with warm water and about a capful of CLR or lime away let it tumbler I go overnight. You’ll be amazed
And I use the stainless shot works the best

Those zincs are my worst nightmare! Especially when I find them on the beach!
I usually end up tossing them they’re to corroded pennies copper ones yes just make sure they’re not mixed even one in your clad will give them a pinkish hue lol

Like others, my clads are in such bad shape I just toss them. Never thought I would see the day I would throw away U.S. coins.

Are you talking about all clad? Because mine that I find on the beach is usually so bad I’d never use it but the tumbler literally makes almost every piece look new with this method.

They look good. I need to get a tumbler. Good job.

I guess I'm lazy I use the tumbler also with the steel shot but I fill with vinegar and 1 table spoon of rock salt run for an hour check them and run longer if needed then I drain and put in some water with a little dish soap and run for a half hour drain and rinse with water pat dry and done
