How is the Quattro for salt water beach hunting???

I'm going to buy a minelab I'm just wondering which one is the best for salt water beach hunting? I'm looking for a new unit in the $800 - $1200 dollar range. thanks for your input....

The Quattro is the only Minelab I have ever owned and have only had it about a month so I can't compare it to the other models but all I can say is the Quattro is a killer on the beach. The depth is just unbelievable. It has a learning curve like most any machine, but if you will take the time to learn its music it will serve you right. I have found a beach loaded with targets and iron. The Quattro is milking out the goods left and right. The combination of salt water and iron will eat most other detectors alive. Good Luck on what ever you decide.

Hey NoCanFind: Thanks for the input. I look forward to purchasing one in the next week or so. So I'm sure I'll be back with questions.

:clapping:Hello, I recently picked up a Quattro. I'm still learning the detector and what it's telling me. So far, I've found some decent coins very deep with it on land. I really like this machine and I'm having a good time with it. As with any detector, you need to spend time to learn the various sounds associated with it. As far as beach hunting with the Quattro, I have not made it to the beach yet but I'm really looking forward to it. I've read many posts on various sites and those that have used or seen the Quattro on the beach SWEAR it's one of the best detectors for that job. I think it's due to to the FBS (full band spectrum) circuitry using 28 different frequencies. People say this detector is super stable and quiet on wet sand with GREAT depth to boot. I can't stress enough the need to purchase "Mastering the Quattro" by Andy Sabish, this book is great and shows many important things not in the user manual. I wish you luck and success with whatever detector you choose. Good hunting to all!!!

The Quattro is the best machine i have ever used
on wet salt water beaches.
Have had finds at unbelievable depths.
the only machines apart from pulse induction
that rivals it are both minelabs,
explorer II and sovereign Elite. IMHO

The Quattro is the best detector you can buy for the wet sand,I can max out the sensitivity to 20 on my black sand beach and I have found coins back to 1689 and a medieval dagger from the 14th century!

The dagger was at about 2 feet depth!

Amen and amen again. I don't think anything can touch a Minelab multi-frequency detector as far as quiet salt water detecting. I had nothing but trouble around salt water with other detectors, but my Quatro seems to love being at the beach as much as I do. :geek::O:|:geek:
