Hey guys...been using my E-TRAC for about 5 months now and have made some incredible finds, among them 18 gold rings.Noticed the other day a slight "static" starting in the background threshold that got increasingly worse with time . Now I have to send it in for repairs and wonder about how long the repair process takes .I do have other detectors but now I've been spoiled by an E-TRAC. I would like to know how the whole process went from any of you guys that sent yours in to the U.S.A. location .Thanks
I sent it to Minelab U.S.A. and was told by Trina (who was very nice) the average turn-a-round was about 20 working days, which is a month. Since I didn't have a backup detector, I couldn't go detecting at all. Waiting was the toughest part of the ordeal for me. I wasn't happy about missing out on three great-weather weeks of detecting, and I was as impatient as a caged lion. I was also angry my 6 month old detector bit the dust so soon.
However Minelab repaired my detector and even got it back to me a week early.
It has been working great ever since. They replaced the printed circuit board and it didn't cost me anything because the detector was still covered by the warranty. Minelab did a great job! They stood behind their product, honored the warranty and repaired my E-trac as quickly as possible. My best advice to you is to try to be more patient than I was. Since you have other detectors, you can still hunt. That'll help get you through the waiting period. But I am confident Minelab will fix your detector and get it back to you as quickly as possible.
