Some of the songs I have done in church are Buddy Jewell's"Help Pour out the Rain/Lacey's Song";"I Love You This Much"-I believe a man called Ricky Wayne(?) sings it;I also do Alan Jacksons"Where were you when the World Stopped Turning"-His tribute to 9/11-I try to do it as close to Sept.11 every year as I can-So we dont forget...A few weeks ago,I did Hank Williams Sr."I Saw The Light";-that REALLY went over very big....I sometimes do a medley of Rock Of Ages,How Great Thou Art,and Amazing Grace-I am supposed to practice with a fellow church-member-I will play guitar, she will sing Battle Hymn Of The Republic"-sometime soon.I have tried writing some of my own gospel songs to play in church, but I havent got that far yet....My wife and I have a "disagreement"over a song I want to do-It is "3 Wooden Crosses"by Randy Travis...I feel it is a great song about redemption;my wife feels it doesnt belong in a church service, because of references to a hooker...opinions,please???and,I just LOVE the song "LONG BLACK TRAIN"BY jOSH TURNER,I THINK HIS NAME IS...i JUST CANT SING THAT LOW,THOUGH....

)In any event ,I am doing 2 songs for prelude this Sunday-first;Craig Morgan's"Thats What I Love About Sunday";and....because there is always the inevitable late comers-they complain that they didnt hear me-I will do Buddy Jewell's"Help Pour Out The Rain/Lacy's Song" for the second one...The music part of worship at our church-well,to put it nicely-needs help...I have had people tell me there that my music is just what they need in that church...I dont know if it is people being self-conscious or shy or whatever;BUT,you can hardly hear ANYBODY singing the hymns...
my reply is:No--

nice being used in such a way)....
