How many MD stories start out like this? I got a nice solid Silver Dollar hit.......

and then the story ends with a big blob of metal or a washer. Today I had a happy ending and got my first ever large dollar! Center field in a little league field of all places. When it dropped to the bottom of the hole I saw Peace dollar. When I got it out I saw Ike. 1972. Nice to finally get my first large dollar. It will have to do until I find a silver one. The toy pistol is broken into 4 pieces and there was no sign of the barrel. A lot of clad too including one 1965 quarter that was wrapped in electrical tape. Both the coin and the tape are pictured next to the pistol.

Nice silver dollar..:clapping:

It's clad, Joel. They made some in 40 percent silver but not this one. I am going to consider it a silver dollar until I find a real one!

I've gotten lots of locked dollar hits. I just haven't pulled up a big dollar yet. Congrats.

Congratulation on your first Silver Dollar.I dug my first one on my birthday in May at an old farmhouse. It was a 1884 D.I scratched it retrieving it.I thought"Oh Boy another Copenhagen can lid.Not so!Bill

Cwilk You brought me good detecting karma.I found a 1972 Eisenhower dollar and a 1916-S Wheatie in a playground that has been pounded to death by other detectorists and my self.

Yikes! Thats's spooky. My 2500 had mine Ided and imaged properly. My next hunt I got the same signal and it was a big old brass washer. Nice old wheat for you too.

I thought for sure you posted one right when I joined last September. Somebody did. I read a boatload of older posts then, though. Maybe the guilty party will respond.
