How much discrimination do you use with your F75 se?

TROLL
See a lot of T2se users using the boost mode with 39 disc setting to disc out most iron ,and they really like it. Curious what the closest setting would be on the F75 with its different iron resolution and high/low gain disc numbers. What disc setting does everyone like to use with their F75?

I don't care for the disc on the 75, too many pops, crackles and iffy signals. I'd rather hear the full signal/tone. I run 0 disc, 90 +or- sens, de mode (old model), 4 tone.

Discrimination amount will depend on the area you are detecting..

Discrimination is a "TOOL" .... No right or wrong amount.

Say your in an area where hundreds of nails have been strewn.... Perfect use of discrimination would be remove the nails and hunt the area.

Or o disc and dig all the nails.... Not me I dial up the disc..

"generally" this works very well, but ,again,is site dependent
i try to run 0 disc whenever, and where ever possible,
"gain" as high as possible, and still maintain a stable unit.
just sayin'

I run 0 disc when ever I can. I seldom go high then 5 unless I have a emi issue. Certain spots I run disc 4 to try and knock out the small rusted out things that cause rust spots in the soil and to knock out some of the small rusted out tin pieces. HH jim tn

I just got one from Big Fang Coin Biter for a great price on here and only had it out 3 times as of tonight. I read Thomas Dankowski's info on it and I run it with ZERO disc. 3H Tones BP Boost mode (goes deeper and ID's better) Disc Zero (5 Disc.down to Disc. 0 increases the gain each level you go lower so run it in zero disc.) for no target masking.

Go through the F1 through F7 frequency channels to find the quietest one for best EMI mitigation and set it there mine is F4 factory setting.

My sensitivity I started it at 99 sensitivity and while sweeping along I lowered it to a nice fairly stable setting which ended up at 30-40 fairly quiet while sweeping and laying prone on the ground while digging.
Hitting some small deep items like small foil pieces 8-9" and such hoping for jewlery ya know!!. Digging pretty much all good solid hits for now to see where things fall on the ID scale.

Found a 1944 silver quarter the first day about 7-8" deep it said while pinpointing. It was apretty easy hit amongst some background chatter while sweeping even with waiving the coil up higher in the air over it.
Hit some 9" deep targets like small bolt and nut and wire about 3" long today in another spot still learning the target ID's.

Boost Mode and Zero discrimination (the highest Gain) makes it go deep irregardless of the sensitivity setting according to Mr. Dankowski's findings too

I run discrimination at 4 in parks, 21 where there is a lot of trash iron. I like the 2F tones and the default mode - though I use the bottlecap around pavilions and party spots.

Since most of the replies seem to be with very low disc settings I thought I would try running at disc 4 and bp mode sens at 85 . Maybe its just me but I think the tones seem to have a more distinct sound and clarity. I do not think when i purchased the f75SE a year ago that i would not have been able to operate it at these settings and truly understand what it was telling me . Thanks for the great information that you folks are willing to share. Ezra.

I don't like the washed out digitized audio you get on the F75 when running higher discrimination, so I tend to run as little as possible, down to zero if possible.

With mine I like to think of different settings for different types of hunting. Being I only hunt coins and jewelry I only have 2 main setups and then variations from each.

So for just picking up coins at a ball field, run dE, disc at max and notch in nickels.
For deeper silver coins I run the bP, disc and notch same as above.
For inland jewelry, run JE, disc at 15 and notch out zinc pinnies. With this one I like to run the smaller 3 1/4 x 6 1/2" elliptical.

For me right now I haven't tried to hunt all the above at the same time. Like if I am hunting a park I am pretty much looking for jewelry and if I happen to get old yard I would be pretty much looking for silver (older the better).
If I was to do something to hunt all above I am pretty sure it would be kind of slow going.

Of course sensitivity just back down a little from the noise.

For tones I only use one, but I know everybody for themselves on this. Every time I go to 3 tones that just about stops me dead in my tracks, so for now I am staying in what works best for me.
