How much offset is needed in tracking GB offset

When in tracking ground balance offset how much + or - is needed to fit or compensate the soil? For example, when you set the number + or - 1-15 how much or little is needed.

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Personally, I'm just looking to define things a bit, so I generally don't tend to run more than about 3 points of offset.
Just remember that (for example) running -3 offset subtracts 3 from wherever your GB is, making the machine respond as though the conditions are 3 points hotter than reality.

Thanks OL, I like to run a touch hot but didn't want to run too many - #'s.
