How Small ? The Joey Mono get's micro meteorites

Hi Doc and all.

Just wanted to show just how small of meteorites that the little Joey Mono will detect. I have been hunting the iron meteorites at Franconia lately and the 3500 and the Joey Mono makes a lethal combination on the micro meteorites.

That's a common straight pin not a 16p nail in the photos.

Are those all yours, or are you taking credit for your dads finds too? Hopefully I'll make it down to GB, just not sure yet-

Boy, you can really see those have melted a lot. I am sure they are 100 percent genuine, but they really do look a lot like iron foundry splatter and sweepings. I guess they look so much the same since these are meteorite melt splatter.

Hi Shep & Chris,

Of course they are all mine I have over a hundred or so. I just quit counting and throw them in a small plastic box. The World Champs of small irons would be Paleface and DW (Jim & Dennis). I'll bet they have numbers in the 1000's of these little bugers. Of course they have a 5 year head start on me. Anyway there are probably millions of these little fellers at the Franconia fall and will sharpen your detecting skills by hunting them. Small coils and a snails pace is the key. Viewed under a loop, many have impact craters. Interesting.
