Personally I enjoy reading the New King James Version of God's Word but I do own several other versions as well. One other version I wouldn't be without is the Jewish TANAKH, which is The TORAH (the 1st 5 books of the Old Testament), The NEVI'IM (Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, Isaiah, Jeremiah, & Ezekiel), THE TWELVE MINOR PROPHETS (Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Johan, Micah, Nahum, Harakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, & Malachi), and lastly ~ The KETHUVIM (Psalms, Proverbs, Job, The Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, 1 Chronicles, & 2 Chroncicles). The new 2010 version of the NIV is a wonderful modern biblical version of God's Word I also own and enjoy reading. I personally believe that owning and studying different version of God's Word to be both educational and interesting. The TANAKH is a prime example of this, in that it is a direct decendent of the Hebrew scrolls of early scripture. At times, the TANAKH will read differently than the KJV of God's Word, in that some Hebrew language is difficult to translate into the English language. And when it does read differently, I pay particular attention to that difference and therefore recieve a broader picture of what God wants me to understand.
