have your coil screw set? I usually set mine pretty firm and bump over the ground. Lately I've noticed a few guys keeping thier coil loose, I guess thinking it will adjust itself as it goes.
Has anyone noticed a difference with either? I can't make up my mind which does better.

I am new to Fisher's, but I have owned many other detectors and I allways have mine just tight enough so that they can be adjusted up or down and they will stay in the position that I set them. I think that if they are adjusted to tight the wings can get damaged or break off.
Its a good ideal to check the area where the stem connects to the coil from time to time for cracks.

I keep mine semi loose but not sloppy so I can easily adjust it when the terrain changes like going up and down hills. HH, Mike
 
Right MIke? <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)"> Sometimes from overtightening or banging into rocks or tree's. Luckily I found a hardware store that has 'em, & FRL will send 'em to ya free if you ask...Bill
