From the land of the Bluenose.....if you have been at this hobby a long time (don't know if my 34 years qualifies) and sometimes don't feel like answering the 20,000 questions from kids or on lookers try wearing a traffic or fluorescent vest..........does work. Swing in peace lasses and bouys!

I was given a neat little gift by my detecting buddy, Ken. Its a green backpack with yellow lettering that says C.E.R.T. and comes with a green plastic hardhat with the same lettering on it. C.E.R.T. is Citizens Emergency Response Team. Even has those lab goggles and a tool for shutting off gas lines at the meter outside houses.

Might be a bit difficult to get the headphones on when using the hardhat - maybe earbuds would work. Just need that vest you mention Leslie and a few of those flags used to mark gas lines...or flourescent orange paint (additional use might be to paint assailants - people or dogs).

I still like the BOMB SQUAD idea.
