How to hunt on stones?

Water wizard

New member
Hi guys my beach has a massive ridge of pebbles to stop the sea, I'm sure that it will be full of stuff washed in to it from the Hugh tides here. I guess it would act like a sluice box trapping coins and jewellery. It's Impossible to get the coil close to the gravel between the rocks, so you can't detect it. Anyone got experience of searching this type of sea defence? Do you think it Will act like a sluice box?
Thanks,

There could very well be some treasure but be aware that in some countries the removal of boulders, rocks or basalt pillars from coastal defences is illegal and will be subject to high fines. Basalt columns (rip rap) can be fixated with metal spikes. Big boulders are sometimes interconnected with steel cables or have re-bar fittings for lifting. These can mask the good signals. Your best weapon of choice might be a pin pointer or a sniper coil.

Wet rocks in tidal zones are usually very slippery and boulders can be subject to shifting (when just deposited or after severe storms). Wading shoes with a felt soles give excellent grip but don't risk your limbs when digging between loose boulders.

Thanks Kossie for your advice,, I will.check out sniper coils.... I hit it today in the pools along the bottom of the ridge and found 6 good targets, and 2 targets that were so large I left them.
