How to set up the Etac for hot ground

Going to a relic hunt in Orange Va. next weekend. The ground is really hot red dirt. Wanted to get some hints for how to maybe make the Etrac perform at its best in that ground, and to get some info on how accurate I can expect the TID to be. Thanks for your help.
