How to setup F70 for relic hunting?

pine3874

Well-known member
Looking for settings on the F70 that would be best for relic hunting. I'm thinking disc settings for program 1 and At settings for program 2. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I use program 1 for the AT mode and program 2 for discrimination since program 1 is the default startup program. That is where I always ground balance upon startup. I also run sensitivity very high there and jump back and forth and use that setup to help untangle some of those mixed up scenarios we find from time to time. --------IB

I got nothing to add...sounds like you got the idea, confirmed by IB:thumbup:...especially if your after iron relics...I guess try to set it up as deep and as stable as possible for a pleasurable experience..I suppose you relic hunters dig everything right? All those little tricks about raising the coil on a target you probably know...I do like a setting that enables me to ascertain how big, how deep, and what the likely composition of the metal the target is comprised of....then, the first few finds allow a guy to determine what this particular patch of dirt may hold...if its really old dirt, on an old farm or something, then I want to really hear those nickel range signals for the chance of a gold coin..but I also want to check on all big high signals (mason jar lid) on the outside chance grandpa buried a mason jar full of 'em under the lilac bushes!..have fun and report back!
Mud.

It's comical how alike some of us think Mud. Whenever I hit a mason lid I get that same image in my mind of the jar full of silver :clapping:---:sadwalk: IB
