how to stop aluminum scoop from oxidizing

Joe19403

New member
Ever time I use my long handle aluminum beach scoop my hand turns black from oxidation. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem.

Thanks

Joe

Go to any auto parts store and pick up a spray can of truck bed liner. Run some sandpaper over the scoop handle, then an alcohol soaked rag before applying the liner.

If you know someone that works in the electrical trade have them to get you a roll of 3M splicing tape. Keeps the black off your hands and really helps the grip when water hunting..

Just Kidding........I have a aluminium scoop and it does the same thing but if i wash it with fresh water after beach hunting it does help, but since its getting cold here i will wear gloves.........

My friend says to wrap athletic tape or medical tape around it. I had a bad case of aluminum in my skin this weekend. You can paint a car with that rustoleum stuff.
