how will DEUS hold up /perform in the cold

I can't see why not, I know that with any electronics, going from one extreme to the other is never good due to contraction, expansion and or condensation, but other than a drastic change you should be fine. I know that I received mine around a month ago and have used it in the dark, rain and cold! Came home from work today and played in the test garden in the light rain, just put a baggie over the control unit and kept the headphones under the brim of my hat. Due to work and weather I have not been able to do too much "in the field hunting" but I have spent countless hours in the test garden and I have learned a lot! As others have said it loves circular round trash like bottle caps! I use Andy's HP program adjacent to my own 4khz program to distinguish garbage from the good stuff. If you don't have it already, get Andy's book in route as it will be most helpful.

Good luck! HH

Robert

Most of metal detectors manufacturers do specify range of operating temperatures in their manuals I am not sure about Deus I never checked mine

The manual lists 23-104 F (converted from C) operating temps. I've noticed the screen will begin to lag in the lower - mid 30's (F), but performance is still normal.

Thanks for the replies guys

I just wanted swing her a bit up in New England just to hear tones feel how light she is for next year

Side note BART. Had it at my house less then 24 hours after order placed

The xp US DISTRO is in MA. But that's what I call service

I just got mine today also got it in 24 hours. I live close to where it shipped from in MA. 20 miles away .I got mine from Vance MD. Way to cold in the 20's after the holidays I'm going to build a box and make a test garden for my garage. Good luck with yours.

I hear ya thanks man you too

it will be too cold for you to detect before the deus packs up on a cold battery ,- 20-30

I've been hunting most of this month in temperatures from 15-55*F with no problems. The coldest day (15*F) I hunted for three hours in my yard - and I remember looking at the screen on the WS5 phones - it was a little slow but still got the job done! Hunted for a few hours one day in light rain, didn't realize it but my phones were completely covered with water and I thought for a minute that I was in trouble...but no, Deus and all its components are built very well - I doubt you'd have a problem from the elements. To be extra-sure though, there are a few waterproof case covers available...

I hunted yesterday in the snow on a sledding hill for easy clad, wind was blowing and it was 20 above, the screen was a little slow but worked perfect. I took the pod off once in awhile and put it in my pocket to warm it up.
