Got to hunt with Mike and his daughter Grace along with my friend Jerry on Labor Day. We did some laboring for sure. Mike outlasted us on this one. We had a great time and a lot of people were showing up for beach fun too. Long line of cars at the pay booth when we were on the way out.
Earlier in the week did some detecting at a piece of land Jerry had cleared off and I got a neat token. Reverse " Good for 1.00 with deposit of 5.00 left on deposit for 6 months". Obverse" Noel State Bank at Milwaukee and North Ave. This is in Chicago. A fellow 92 years old who has lived in Chgo all his life said he had never seen nor heard of that bank so it is at least pre-depression era.
Leaving my sister's place in the morning to attend the reunion mentioned previously. Haven't seen most of them since graduation nite in 1962. Didn't figure I would live this long but moving around the way I do the Grim Reaper can't find me.
