How's the Compadre in the sand -- wet/dry ?

I'm thinking of a Compadre for sand hunting on the beaches.
This would be fresh water beaches.Only wet/dry sand detecting.
I've heard good things about small gold chains being detected
and just wonder how it would do under those circumstances !
Most detectors will not pick those unless maybe a PI machine.
Any one have experience with this at the beach ? :tesoro:

I have recently hunted a fresh water beach with my Compadre with no trouble at all, I waded to my waist. Just don't submerge the box obviously. but fresh water sand was no issue.

Did you get any of those thin gold chains that may have been lost in the sand ?

Unfortunately we have very few beaches in AZ the one I went to was small and I had no luck finding much of value. I have no doubt though that the compadre would find them though.
