Here is hunt #93 that started out very slowly. Wasn't finding anything but kept looking. Here is my hunt for today. Thanks for stopping in.....Z

Nice job on sneaking up on the lovely Barber dime. That lady just doesn't seem to pop up often enough. Good coin count, too. WTG! HH jim tn

Outrageous! Both the barber and the clad amount! :clapping: I dont know whether to puke, drool, or applaud!
Mud:puke:

Jim I am detecting a picnic area and finding mostly 80's and newer coins. Up comes this Barber a real good dime signal and about 2" down. It was one heck of a surprise.

Mud thanks. It was a real surprise to me. I just went over the 4 thousand mark in coins. 4014 coins so far this year.
Was out this morning and I covered a lot of ground and only picked up 27 coins and 2 pieces of junk jewelry. There was a lot of activity at this park yesterday and I thought it was prime for the picking. But not so. I have 2 other parks in mind for the next hunts.

Thanks guys for stopping by.....Z

Errr...I don't think that is a lady.

Nice dime!

It is a lady. Barber coins are Miss Liberty with a olive branch crown. If that's what you're referring to. The Indian head is also Miss Liberty, with a war bonnet on.

Here it is: And the winner is????
The Barber dime, as with all previous dimes, featured an image of Liberty on the obverse. She is wearing a Phrygian cap, a laurel wreath with a ribbon, and a headband with the inscription "LIBERTY".
If I knew it was going to cause so much discussion I would have made a sandwich to eat while I was reading all the comments....
Thanks guys.
Haven't been detecting because we had a water leak in the apartment and had 80 gallons of water removed. Should be back after it drys out and new carpet installed.

Water leak eh? Sure, sure..I guess I'd a had an 80 gallon "water leak" too after finding that dime, except it would have been immediately! Add a clothespin to your hunting gear just in case you find a cache of gold coins one of these days, and maybe a cork too..you'll figure out what they are for at that moment and thank me later!
