Hunt w. Outdoor Mike & Mr. Bill....

Bill Ladd

New member
Mike Scott from Outdoor Outfitters was passing through New England on his way to a detector show.....I won't mention/promote the name since I was BFL from there as well :ban: (what else is new) ;) My avitar fits like a glove ;)
Anyhow, we also met with Mr. Bill from the Cape who met us for breakfast. Then we hit a couple of Bill Henderson's sites he had lined up in his area. We had perfect weather.....
My mission was to get some quality time in with the new 5.5" sunray coil on the C$. I'm pinpointing a target here.....

it was a farm field site, & we all picked up a bunch of colonial pipe stems, glass, etc. I grabbed a dang hat full! Bill D. would dig this stuff! I gave the pipe stems to Mike to take back to the Outdoor Outfitters display case.....

A variety of detectors were used. Mr. Bill had the new T2, me the new sunray stuff on the C$. Everyone got several goodies. Many colonial flat buttons surfaced. Bill H. & I got some coins. Bill H. a barber, buffalo, & a British copper. I got a worn down flowing hair Largie & at the end I bagged a decent 1850 big penny.
Here's a hand shot of the coppers & a couple of the better 1700's decorated buttons....[attachment 25595 outdoorfinds2.jpg]
At 5pm we laid everything out on a rock....Mike & Mr. Bill's stuff went away in Mr. Bill's car, so there was even more. It was an awesome day all around. Great to see Mike from Wisconsin get some colonial New England stuff to take home.....
