Hunted An Old Homestead Foundation Today...

And what I found surprised even me. Believe it or not, I found a big meet cleaver approximately 16" long and weighting more than two pounds. The wooden handles are gone, of course, but the rivets are still there. It's in rough shape but here tis:

Yeah ... It made me smile. We were using shovels to do the digging because of the numerous tree roots. This particular find was approximately 10"-12" deep. Needless to say my Minelab Safari 'Bonged' rather loud and came in @ #38 on the screen. I thought it was a silver quarter or half-dollar because of the sound and signal. I haven't decided if I'll clean it up or not yet.
