Hi everyone, I found an old farm silo a few months ago on state land. I was excited until I started detecting the location today. I do not understand how metal detecting landed such a negative image and hunting holds a rather respectable position. I do both so please don't get the idea that I am bashing any hobby. Its just the way this place looked after the snow melted was terrible. I was constantly kicking 1970's pop cans and busted bottles. There was an extreme collection pull tab beer cans. I had an entire trash pouch FULL of expended shot gun shells, many different gauges. Beer and shot guns......
I mean its not metal detectors and shovels but, bad enough. (sarcasm) I spent a lot of time picking up trash but, barely put a dent in the damage done here.
I did manage to pull one keeper out. I pulled a 1911 Wheat penny. It was nice to pull something old and even though it was only a wheat cent, I was very happy it did not end up a 40's or 50's penny. Anyone know of a good trash eliminator program? The chances are great for silver but, the hunt is going to be brutal with all the trash. Any help or suggestions is greatly welcomed.
Thanks,
Xmarks
