Hunting the Beach

crabby

New member
I'll be in North Myrtle Beach next week and I have question:

Standing on the dry sand and facing the water, how far can I walk towards the ocean before interference interrupts my hunting. Semi wet sand? Wet sand?

Crabby

I always get interference right where the wet sand and dry sand meet. I have heard that the MXT is not the best wet sand detector. Good luck though...

Hi Crabby, It's been a long time. How ya been? As for the chattering, Lodihunter has it right. I would still go ahead and hunt it. No telling how many rings, etc. you might find at the waters edge and even in the water. Just be careful not to drop it in the water or raise your coil over the control panel. HH, Nancy

It has been a very long time. The recovery has been slow but, it's at the point now that I actually feel like getting out.

Thank you for remembering me.

Crabby

It's great that you are feeling up to detecting again. I too don't get out much anymore. Health is a big concern, so every little bit I do get out, I'm thankful for it. Keep us posted and again, welcome back to the forum. You were missed. HH, Nancy

Hey Crabby,
Nancy's right. The dry sand is pretty easy, but the wet sand is not too bad and might hold a goody or two. Take a big coil and cover as much as you can.
