Went back to this old park that used to be a Christian Camp from the turn of the century through the 60's. Neat little park; still has some of the old foundations. I'm told that they're going to be renovating it (I'll have to take that week off from work :) ) Anyway, the last time I was there I picked up about 5 or so wheaties so I went back to the same area. Hit 5 more wheats including a 1914 and a 1919 before I picked up this Merc.
(Hey Mike: I've made the switch from ferrous to conduct the last couple of times I've hunted... very interesting)

Did ya check that 14 to see if it has a "D"?? Congrats on the digs! :)

Joe, those are terrific finds.....I love that "merc"....great condition, too..not like my ocean "pitted " ones .

Out of the ground , they just have dirt on them, but out of the ocean, there are layers and layers of tarnish, somtimes thick and "gooey"...they need lots of cleaning, but I tell you that just from the thick tarnish whether "scaly" or "gooey" I can almost always tell immediately that there is a "merc" under there....love it!

Congratulations on great detecting

Friday night we had a massive rain storm. Something like 3 or 4" of rain and super high winds. Rained all day Saturday. Today was "cold" but nice and sunny. Perfect day for everyone to get together over my mom's for her 91st B'day party. :)
