Basically, he's on the right track - too many negatives tho. Some positives are needed along the line to touch people's hearts. I dont think people will respond positively to being yelled at, love is needed. Steve in so az

Is it not love preaching truth? Can you from scriptures show me where the negatives are? Thank you

Sorry i cant see it .

So i take it that this verse is also negative as its quoted from Jesus: its quoted 8 times on matthew

exactly , but coming at one in a yelling , dramatic way is too much negativity. A mixture of soft & hard would be better. No one can argue about the words in the Bible. But how it's delivered can be argued. Sorry if I didn't say it that way , Steve

repeat what a preacher or God's Saints say but don't really believe it in their hearts....so thinking they are saved but probably are not! The truth must be spoken, for sinners are going to Hell and those who think they are okay but aren't will be cast out of heaven....We have to truly believe and receive the One, true Savior, Jesus Christ, Who is God with us! Only by believing faith producing good fruit will anyone inherit a Mansion in Heaven! Good works won't save us but salvation of the soul produces good works which are the fruits of the Holy Spirit! Amen! Ma Betty

the hem of the sinner's garment! He most likely was preaching to his reular congregation on how to serve the Lord and save more souls and maybe even some of them weren't really Christians or just lukewarm ones! God's Holy Spirit sits the true believer on Spiritual fire for serving Him, faithfully! Amen! Ma Betty

The man in the video is preaching the Truth, no doubt of that, but his method would appeal to certain people and less so to others. That is probably true of everyone.

There is a verse in the Psalms that says "I have been young and now I am old." That phrase describes me adequately. When younger I possibly sounded like that Pastor but I wish that I had not. In my youth I used to belong to a Sydney based evangelical group that preached every week in the streets around Sydney. I have seen much of that sort of firery preaching and it seems to me to be rather typical of younger preachers. But all have to learn and with practice, and the encouragement and correction by more experienced people, younger preachers improve their methodology.

There are many traps for young preachers. Watching the video introduces another. It leads me to say that there is nothing to be gained by quoting the activities and statements of un-named "evangelicals" in order to give more credibility to your own preaching. I have done it, and again now wish that I hadn't.

The trap for the older preachers is to tone down the message to be more acceptable to your audience. Somehow we must strive for a balanced approach.

There is some very good advice from St Paul in Col. 4:6 when he writes, "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man."

Gracious speech is easy to absorb and pleasant to listen to. Never-the-less gracious speech can make your squirm by its Spirit empowered force. That is quite different to squirming because you are somewhat embarrassed by the way a preacher delivers his message. We don't need that.

Here is a quote from a Pastor who was un-named in the article I drew it from. He wrote "We are never so right that we may use ungracious speech to those who are wrong. I am becoming more and more convinced that being right with a wrong spirit is almost as bad as being wrong."

Paul goes on: "Seasoned with salt." You take a mouthful of your meal and decide "it needs a bit of salt." A gentle sprinkle and, what a transformation! Suddenly each mouthful is very palatable and pleasant to eat and your appetite seems to increase. That is how our speech and preaching should be. It should make people want to hear more, not squirm in embarrassment. Surely this is the sort of speech or sermon we like to hear. Therefore it ought to be the sort of message or speech that we present.

Preaching or speech "seasoned with salt" loses none of its power, in fact it gains power because its force is not in the personality of the preacher, but in the power of God. That is what all preachers need. The less that is remembered of the preacher the better is his ministry.

May our "... speech (or writing) be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that (we) may know how (we) ought to answer every man."

Paul Washer biography is here: http://www.heartcrymissionary.com/about/staff/2

Heres the verse you are stating:

Psalm 37:25 I Was Young And Now I Am Old, Yet I Have Never Seen The Righteous Forsaken Or Their Children Begging Bread

You are taking this verse out of context

Commentary on the Bible, by Adam Clarke, [1831], at sacred-texts.com

I have been young, and now am old - I believe this to be literally true in all cases. I am now grey-headed myself; I have traveled in different countries, and have had many opportunities of seeing and conversing with religious people in all situations in life; and I have not, to my knowledge, seen one instance to the contrary. I have seen no righteous man forsaken, nor any children of the righteous begging their bread. God puts this honor upon all that fear him; and thus careful is he of them, and of their posterity.,

Preaching a Water down Gospel is sinful.PERIOD.It dishonors God

Dont Milk the sermon but eat solid food Hebrews 5:14

But today's Christians, they love their pabulum. They demand more of the same. Now not to say they do not like variety. Why, the most popular preachers are those who can most crafterly, craftily, rather, and cleverly use milk to delight their shallow appetite. So they search out teachers who can flavor the milk and package the milk and color the milk in different ways, shapes, varieties, and forms, but just make sure it's still milk. By all means make the milk more interesting. Make the milk more appealing, more attractive, more humorous and more entertaining. But it must be only milk. We don't need any Paul type preachers who are determined to preach, quote, "the whole counsel or purpose of God, Acts 20:27. NO young Timothy's upon us who will heed Paul's admonition to, quote, "Preach the Word," though it will bring hardship and decreasing attendance, Second Timothy chapter 4. We'll have no Apollos's among us who was, quote, "mighty in the scriptures," teaching accurately the things of Jesus, Acts 18:24 and 25. Let's not have any Aquilla's and Pricilla's among us who took Apollos aside and taught Apollos further so he could go deeper concerning the things of Christ, Acts 18:26

Now what about John the Baptist, wasn't He a shouter? warning the people in love but lifting up his voice?" I am the Voice of One crying in the Wilderness. "

"The modern Christian prefers the Gospel of Nice to the Gospel of Christ"
Justice. Wrathful. Righteous. Holy. Granted, these things are not "anti-nice" or "contra-kindness." They're just not nice. An omnibenevolent God without coextensive and interconnected attributes is not the Christian God.Being nice does not save souls from condemnation. There is no degree of niceness that will save a person from their just punishment. The soul that sins shall die, and rightly so, if we are to take God seriously in His Word. What matters is if you're wearing the righteousness of Christ; all items of niceness and deeds of kindness are "filthy rags" in comparison to what God requires.

Men dont get save by schemes, warmth, loving, kindness, emotions etc,Men get saved by hearing the Word and The Holy Spirit is the One who does the saving, its From God,a supernatural event.

The Law(10 commandments) is supposed to convict hearts of their wickedness so we preach the sinfulness of men and their need of A Saviour.

Imagine That you was with your 5 year old walking along the tracks and he runs ahead of you by far and theirs a train headed towards him.You wont make it to help him but threes a manin a distance screaming and yelling at your son, GET OUT OF THERE,GET OUT.. Is this not Love that he warns the child or would he be better off in kindness speak to him,in this manner.Son can you please step over here instead?

We are in danger the lost are heading to Hell and Christ didn't make a whip and turned tables over screaming for nothing.Yes in love the gospel must be preach also in humbleness but truth is truth and it must be spoken to those lukewarmer or spiritually dead folks.

I hope you dont see me as being mad at you are nothing like that. I too am a street preacher and i dont scream at non believers nor do i say God hates them but i do say God hates their wickedness and i preach Law,death, grace and Christ but I'm not watering it down, people are perishing

Men wont get saved if your nice, God does does the saving, your preaching a men center gospel as it sounds to me.

KJV.....17.....But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18.... How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lustsl 19... These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spiritl 20.... But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21.... Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22... And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23.... And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. (sins) 24... Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25... To the only wise God our saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

My sister-in-law's mother used to say that she hadn't been to church unless the preacher was stepping on her toes....meaning he was preaching against sinning and not many preachers preach that way now, unless the indwelling Holy Ghost (God's Spirit) quickens them to preach what He is telling them to preach! Whoever is attending is what message God's Holy Spirit sends forth unless the preacher isn't listening and preaching what he or she wants to preach or teach!

I like Spirit-Filled preachers and when the Holy Spirit of God is working...oh what a service they bring to their congregations! If no one has been to these than they don't know what they are missing!  Ma Betty
