I do some recon on this place 10 months ago and I was going to go to my regular spot and said what the hey let me try this one. I swung there for about a couple hours and then went home and drank some ... :beers:

First signal which was in 5 mintues I got was looking like a corroded Lincoln and when I hit it 6-7" down I saw it was silver and a Mercury. I flipped it up and I saw 1916! I flipped it over hoping to see the D mark but to no avail. I could see it better when I got home and looked at it with my loupe. I know some have come close to that and I think Bryce hit it I believe. This place shows some promise. I'll probably hit the other side tomorrow.

Did you hunt the slope or flat area? Nice looking dime. Maybe you'll get lucky next time!!!

Good Luck, Duane

It was flat. It's pretty much all flat, a few slopey areas though.

That is some prime detecting area that should yield a few Injuns and Barbers as well. Wouldn't wait too much longer since someone else might come along and hit it before you do again. Nice looking Merc by the way and great pics. Good Luck and HH.

James,

The pics I posted are of the much younger area. The area I have been hunting in has trees that are much older and all I have gotten is 2 silver. My intuition and results tells me this site will not produce much more. There are some old sidewalks though. I'll hit those carefully.
